Tips On How To Prepare Physically, Mentally To Swim Fast Highlights SWIM Section of Swimming World's September Issue -- September 4, 2009

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 4. THE current installment of The Pool's Edge provides swimmers with a game plan to follow when preparing to swim fast. Referred to as a Rev-Up set, which occurs right after warm-up, this set bridges the transition from going from an easy warm-up to swimming fast.

By following the specifics of the Rev-Up set, swimmers will find the benefits to be gained to be both physical as well as mental. Author Karlyn Pipes-Neilsen provides a small sample of Rev-Up sets she has incorporated into her training over the years. After reading this article swimmers will gain a higher appreciation for moving more slowly from warm-up to full speed.
